Compensation: Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year. The posted range reflects the base salary for this position only. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a year-end discretionary bonus based on performance and business results.
TruStone is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join our TruStone Financial team!
The Business Development Manager is a key member of the Sales and Marketing team responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing new business relationships with advisors. The incumbent is guided by defined goals and objectives and works under the general supervision of the VP of their designated region.

What you’ll be working on
1. Advisor relationship management
Act as the primary point of contact for advisors, providing personalized support and solutions.
Conduct regular advisor visits and conduct presentations to showcase (or highlight) the TSF value proposition, sales concepts, and ideas to build the advisors’ business.
Assist advisors with underwriting submissions, policy issue, case consultation and quotes.
Advocate for advisors during case escalations, underwriting issues, or special client needs.
Offer one-on-one coaching to help advisors improve their sales performance.
Provide ongoing support to existing agency partners, including product training, technical assistance and marketing support.
Maintain high levels of satisfaction among advisors through responsive and proactive support.
Address and resolve advisor concerns or issues promptly.
2. Sales Results
Meet or exceed sales targets for insurance and/or wealth products
Identify and pursue opportunities for growth in target markets or regions.
Ensure steady growth in advisor onboarding and policy submissions.
3. Recruiting
Identify and qualify potential new partners through market research, networking events and other lead generation activities
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective agents and/or agencies.
Onboard and train new advisors.
4. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders, including suppliers.
Participate in industry events and conferences to network and build relationships.
Stay up to date on market trends and regulatory changes.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies
Liaise with insurance carriers to ensure advisors have access to the latest tools, resources, and underwriting guidelines.
5. Business Management
Partner with the various divisions of TruStone to explore sales and lead opportunities
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that effectively communicate TSF services and competitive advantages.
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including leads, appointments, proposals and closed deals.
Maintain strong product knowledge of all products offered from carriers TSF holds a contract with.
Ensure all activities comply with provincial regulations, insurance carrier guidelines, and MGA policies.
Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions with advisors, clients, and carrier partners.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in business, insurance or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in insurance sales, preferably within an MGA or brokerage environment.
Proven track records of success in achieving sales targets.
Demonstrated experience working in the financial services industry.
LLQP and working on QAFP and/or CFP.
Strong (Effective) communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Excellent negotiation skills.
ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of insurance regulations and best practices.
