About This Opportunity
Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa is looking to connect with experienced, hardworking, and reliable independent deck and fence contractors in the Ottawa area.
This is not a traditional employment position. Contractors do not work for Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa as employees.
This is a business-to-business arrangement in which independent contractors receive access to potential customer leads and job opportunities generated through Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa.
Contractors independently decide which opportunities they want to pursue. You are not required to accept every lead or project offered.
How the 85% / 15% Arrangement Works
For an accepted job, the independent contractor receives 85% of the agreed job revenue, while Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa receives 15% in connection with providing the lead/job opportunity.
For example, if the agreed job revenue is $10,000, the contractor's share would be $8,500 (85%), while Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa's share would be $1,500 (15%), subject to the applicable agreement.
This is not an hourly or salaried position.
Contractors should evaluate each lead or project independently and decide whether they want to take the opportunity.
Independent Contractors — Not Employees
Applicants should clearly understand the nature of this opportunity before applying.
Participating contractors operate as independent contractors/businesses. They are not being hired as employees or staff members of Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa.
The arrangement is intended to provide independent contractors with access to leads and potential projects rather than employment with Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa.
Contractors are responsible for operating their own businesses and for their applicable taxes, insurance, tools, transportation, licences, registrations, expenses, and other business or legal obligations.
There is no guarantee of a specific number of leads, jobs, working hours, or amount of revenue.
Contractors have the ability to decide which opportunities they wish to pursue and are not required to accept every available project.
Communication Through Vertex Labs Canada
Participating contractors will receive access to communication through Vertex Labs Canada, including access to its premium subscription for communicating regarding available opportunities and, where applicable, communicating with Craft Deck and Fence Builders Ottawa and clients.
Contractors can review available opportunities and choose the jobs they are interested in taking.

We are looking for experienced independent contractors who:
- Have professional deck and/or fence construction experience
- Are hardworking, reliable, and dependable
- Produce high-quality craftsmanship
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Can independently manage the projects they accept
- Show up when they commit to a project
- Have appropriate tools and transportation for their work
- Maintain applicable insurance, licences, registrations, and other business requirements
- Take pride in their work and customer satisfaction
- Can provide examples or photos of previous projects
Important Independent Contractor Notice
