We’re looking for a Project Coordinator to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards. If you’re a strong leader with railway experience and a passion for safety and quality, this is an excellent opportunity to make an impact.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in managing activities across multiple projects at various stages of completion, while maintaining ongoing communication with the project team.
- Work with the Project Team to ensure company objectives for customer satisfaction, safety, quality, production, revenue, and profit are achieved within established timelines.
- Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its core values.
- Collaborate with the Project Team to obtain critical project documents (permits, submittals, subcontractor insurance requirements) as required by specifications or clients.
- Monitor projects daily and record production and job costs in the project management system.
- Track and report on project activities and tasks, providing Project Progress Reports as required.
- Identify issues or changes in scope to determine whether a Change Order Request should be submitted to the customer.
- Identify resource requirements, set expectations, provide direction, and monitor progress.
- Assist in coordinating the delivery of project activities and overall project performance; complete a Project Closeout Report to document final scope changes, additional revenue opportunities, punch-list items, and any hindrances affecting closeout or final payment.
- Submit invoices and collect payments from customers as necessary.
- Update and maintain the customer/contact database for all project-related contacts, including existing customers, subcontractors, prime contractors, and other stakeholders who may influence or impact OWS Railroad Construction & Maintenance’s success.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera is an asset.
- Ability to plan and manage work according to a project schedule.
- Ability to motivate people and maintain effective relationships with clients, owners, and consultants.
- Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs, investigate root causes, and identify short- and long-term solutions.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
- Proven organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and manage tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated maturity and professionalism, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree and/or Diploma in Engineering or a related field (Civil Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in construction is a strong asset.
- Courses in Project Management are considered an asset.
- Railway experience an asset.
- Working toward a Project Management Certification and/or a professional designation.
- Availability to work weekends and weeknights as required by project demands.
