Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Work Location: On-site, Sautler Street
Compensation: $55,000 - $58,000, Dependant on Experience

The Position
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production activities on their assigned shift, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and production requirements are met. This role focuses on effective team leadership, development, and the execution of change management and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor’s deep understanding of production processes supports the identification of efficiency gains and cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Production Supervision
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring accurate set-up, order fulfillment, labeling, reporting, and inventory tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production issues and maintain efficient workflows
- Support development and enforcement of production standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor quality, investigate deviations, and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure workspaces are adequately stocked and maintained with materials and PPE, in partnership with relevant departments
- Ensure the Team Lead coordinates workflow effectively, stepping in to fill labor shortages, and making recommendations to improve
- Resolve problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action plans
- Communicate all pertinent information concerning production, issues, and related action plans with all relevant stakeholders and departments
- Support duties for staff meal sampling program
- Work with the Maintenance department to assist in prevention and rectification of equipment failures and other service disruptions
- Other duties as assigned
People Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, schedule, and support a diverse team across varying start times
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Communicate objectives, expectations, and key metrics to team leads and staff
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
- Approve timesheets for payroll in an accurate and timely manner
- Active involvement and leadership in the implementation and execution of continuous improvement initiatives
Health, Safety, and Quality
- Enforce adherence to health & safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, JHSC, and internal safety programs
- Execute accident investigations in a timely and accurate fashion, and carry out any follow up required as a result of the investigation
- Play a key role in the development and maintenance of a safety culture by ensuring effective management of RFRK’s safety program, utilizing best practices in safety leadership
- Conduct root cause investigations of incidents where teams deviate from protocol and recommend corrective actions
- Identify and flag quality issues that arise from various teams, report on quality trends and make recommendations
- Work in partnership with the Quality Assurance department to prevent and resolve any quality issues and ensure adherence to all quality requirements
- Oversee and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures for machines, equipment, and general production facility are adhered to
- Perform product quality inspections & measurements to ensure standards are met or exceeded
About You
Required Education & Experience
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Technology, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or related industry
- Knowledge and commitment to health and safety standards, regulations, supervisory responsibilities and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to schedule employees and production shifts within a multi-shift environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or G-Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
- Comprehensive understanding of OHSA
