Field Rigger / Crane & Rigging Technician

Job Summary
Thompson Miller Specialty Rigging is hiring Field Riggers to support our growing operations across the GTA.
We specialize in complex rigging, crane work, and heavy equipment installation in high-rise construction and industrial environments. Our projects include crane setups, machinery moving, structural steel, electrical equipment installations, and tight-access equipment placements.
This is a hands-on field role working directly on active job sites in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with crane setup and lifting operations
- Perform rigging, hoisting, and signaling
- Support machinery moving and heavy equipment installation
- Work on high-rise construction sites and tight-access projects
- Assist with steel erection and large equipment placement
- Maintain rigging gear, tools, and site organization
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members and site personnel
- Support the team in a multi-role, fast-paced work environment
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites across the GTA
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly
- Physically capable of performing labour-intensive work
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all conditions
- Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure
Preferred
- Experience with rigging, cranes, or hoisting operations
- Experience on crane/lift days
- Working at Heights certification (Willing to train if required)
- Background in construction, mechanical, or steel erection
- Basic understanding of load handling and rigging practices
Training & Development
We are willing to support and train the right candidates in obtaining required certifications (including Working at Heights and other relevant safety training).

Pay: $24.00-$40.00 per hour
