Overview
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Greenhouse Workers. In this role, you will play a vital part in the cultivation and maintenance of plants within our greenhouse environment. This position requires a passion for gardening and a willingness to engage in physical labor, including heavy lifting and the use of hand tools. Ideal candidates will have mechanical knowledge and basic math skills to assist with various tasks related to plant care and irrigation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planting, watering, and caring for a variety of plants within the greenhouse.
- Cashier experience
- Plant and garden decor sales
- Operate irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules are maintained.
- Perform routine maintenance on greenhouse equipment, utilizing mechanical knowledge when necessary.
- Utilize hand tools for planting, pruning, and harvesting as needed.
- Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests or diseases to management.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks associated with moving soil, plants, and other materials throughout the greenhouse.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse environment to promote a safe working space.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not required.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for operating and maintaining equipment effectively.
- Basic math skills are necessary for measuring soil, water levels, and other related tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
- Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in gardening and plant care is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions as required by the greenhouse environment.
