Landstorm Contracting is a civil excavation and site-servicing company based in Carp, ON, working across Ottawa, the Ottawa Valley, and Eastern Ontario. We're hiring an experienced Senior Estimator to lead pricing and bidding on our civil projects sewer and water, septic, grading, granulars, trucking, demolition, and small commercial sitework. This is a hybrid role: a mix of in-office days in Carp and remote work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed, competitive estimates and tender submissions for GC subcontract, builder/developer, and municipal work
- Perform quantity takeoffs and build up labour, equipment, trucking, and material pricing
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents; identify scope, risks, and exclusions
- Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subtrades
- Track bid results against awards and refine pricing to protect margin
- Coordinate with operations to ensure estimates reflect real field productivity
Skills & Requirements
- 5+ years estimating civil/excavation or heavy construction work
- Strong quantity takeoff skills and proficiency with estimating software and Excel
- Working knowledge of municipal tender processes and Ontario civil specifications
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specs accurately
- Sharp attention to detail and the discipline to hit tender deadlines
- Knowledge of the Eastern Ontario / Ottawa Valley market
- Civil/construction engineering technology diploma or equivalent trade experience
Pay: $65,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
