Job Responsibilities Homemaker
- Effectively deliver homemaking services, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and light meal preparation.
- Help clients maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic home environment
- Adhere to SFC principles, policies, values, and guidelines.
- Communicate honestly and effectively with clients, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Apply critical thinking and best practices to ensure safety and client satisfaction.
- Prepare updates, progress reports, and incident reports for supervisory staff.
- Maintain a safe and respectful workplace free from violence, hate and harassment.
- Participate in training, education, and continuous process improvement
- Use a personal mobile device and maintain a cellular data subscription to meet work application requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned within the reasonable scope of the job.
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Hospitality industry training/experience is an asset
Customer service experience is an asset
Experience:
- At least 2 months of experience providing homemaking services to seniors in a community setting (preferred).
- Hospitality industry experience (an asset).
Skills and Attributes:
- Fluent in English (verbal, written, and reading comprehension).
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
- Multitasking and time-management skills.
- String assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution in the scope of providing services
- Oral fluency in other languages is a definite asset
Significant Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, carry, or pull up to 25 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to travel within Ottawa.
