Valley Blades Limited is currently hiring for an Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative to join our team.
The Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative reports directly to the Sales Coordinator and Vice President. This position is responsible for serving customers via telephone and email, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, processing transactions and where possible upselling of Valley Blades Limited products and services.
They will provide high level customer service to clients and potential customers, reaching business targets through excellent telephone sales and communications skills.
This position will work in the office working on a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Job Duties
- Have a foundation of knowledge on industry parts.
- Assist customers with standard account-related requests.
- Research and resolve customer problems, inquiries and process transactions.
- Process necessary paperwork for customer sales orders.
- Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner and maintain Valley Blades Limited highly regarded reputation.
- Build and maintain customer relations, and continue researching new products and services, and competitor activities.
- Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Outside Sales Representatives with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on.
- Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events.
- Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell.
- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
- Coordinate customer orders with Production.
- Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
- Attend periodic sales training where applicable.
- Respond to customer service calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide customer support and troubleshooting services via telephone.
- Address client inquiries regarding status of orders, payment, refunds, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- GED or College diploma in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar program.
- 1+ years of direct work experience in a sale or tele sales capacity.
- Bilingual, Trilingual, or Multilingual is an asset.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and e-mail required.
- Computer literacy with Business Central.
- Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
- Strong mathematical skills when computing fractions, imperial measurements, and complete/convert equations.
- Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
- Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
Working Conditions
- Some travel may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
