Position: POSITION SUMMARY:
Life After Fifty is Hiring Students for Canada Summer Jobs 2026
Rec & Leisure Councillor, Fitness Leader: 2 vacancies June 29th Duration – 8 weeks
Status: Full-Time Contract(1 FTE)
Position Summary:
This position is directly responsible for supporting the facilitation of on-site and virtual recreational programs offered by Life After Fifty.
Responsibilities:
· Work with Program team of staff and volunteers.
· Foster and maintain positive interactions with members and clients.
· Direct interaction with members through the delivery of programs.
· Will provide program planning, delivery of programs and conduct program evaluations.
· Teach fitness and other classes as required.
· Work reception desk & provide centre tours as required.
· Present a positive and encouraging demeanor to members. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to privacy procedures.
· Set-up and take down of programs, as required.
· Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined.
Qualifications
·Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
· Vulnerable Sector police clearance required.
· Physically able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and lift equipment for programming set-up as required.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
