Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Tile Worker Helper to assist experienced tile installers in completing flooring and wall tile projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to learn construction skills, including tile laying and flooring installation, while supporting team efforts on various job sites. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop hands-on experience in construction and handyman tasks, contributing to quality workmanship and timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and layout of tile installation projects according to blueprints and specifications
- Handle and operate hand tools such as trowels, levels, cutters, and other tile installation equipment
- Support the mixing and application of adhesives, grout, and caulking materials
- Help with surface preparation including cleaning, leveling, and ensuring proper substrate conditions
- Carry materials, tools, and supplies to work areas safely and efficiently
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Support carpentry tasks related to flooring installation or framing as needed
- Assist in the cleanup of work sites after project completion
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction practices preferred
- Prior experience with flooring installation or tile laying is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with blueprint reading is advantageous
- Handyman experience or carpentry skills are beneficial for supporting various project tasks
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Reliable transportation to job sites; own basic hand tools is a plus but not mandatory for initial training
