Due to strong growth in our business and continued plans for expansion, Northland Floral is looking for a new position as Cooler- Bouquet Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning for labour & Team Leadership
· Lead the daily execution of bouquet production and cooler operations to ensure product is produced, organized, sorted, staged, and prepared for shipment accurately and on time.
· Oversee inbound and outbound product flow, ensuring inventory is properly received, rotated, stored, and organized.
· Ensure bouquet production priorities are aligned with customer demand, operational requirements, and shipping timelines.
· Monitor execution throughout the day and proactively address bottlenecks, labour gaps, product shortages, or operational issues.
· Ensure daily production, pallet, and shipping documentation is completed accurately to support operational execution.
· Lead, coach, and support bouquet and cooler teams to maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
· Coordinate daily labour deployment and staffing requirements to support production and operational demands.
· Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members in partnership with Human Resources and Operations leadership.
· Conduct performance discussions, coaching conversations, and performance evaluations to support employee growth and accountability.
· Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and operational excellence.
Quality, Inventory & Cooler Management
· Ensure outbound products meet Northland Floral quality expectations and customer standards.
· Oversee product rotation, inventory organization, and cooler housekeeping to maximize freshness, efficiency, and safe storage practices.
· Monitor product shortages, returns, and inventory concerns, escalating issues as required.
· Ensure bouquet recipes, labelling, pallet plans, and product handling standards are followed accurately.
Holiday & Seasonal Execution
· Support operational planning and labour readiness for key floral holidays and seasonal demand periods, including Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness during peak demand periods.
· Maintain flexibility to support altered schedules and increase operational requirements during seasonal peaks.
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Ensure all team members follow Health & Safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
· Maintain clean, safe, and organized working environments across bouquets and cooler operations.
· Participate in incident follow-up, workplace investigations, and corrective actions as required.
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Work closely with the Plant Operations Manager to align daily execution with broader operational priorities and performance expectations.
· Coordinate with Purchasing, Transportation, Maintenance, HR, and other operational teams to support seamless execution.
· Communicate operational risks, resource needs, and execution challenges proactively.
Qualifications:
Education:
· Post-secondary education in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
Experience:
· 3–5 years of experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, distribution, or production environment.
· Experience working in seasonal or high-volume operations is considered an asset.
· Floral industry experience is considered an asset but not required.
Skills:

· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
· Ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout operational areas.
· Ability to work in cooler environments (38–45°F / 3–7°C).
