The Multi Agency School Support Team (MASST), Youth at Risk Development Program (YARD), and ReDirect programs are looking for a responsible, reliable, flexible, team minded professional to join our team in the role of Family Counsellor. Reporting to the manager of Collaborative Initiatives, the Family Counsellor will function as a pivotal member of MASST/YARD/ReDirect programs which is a partnership between the Calgary Police Services (CPS); the Calgary Board of Education (CBE); the Calgary Separate School Division (CSSD); the City of Calgary, and Recovery Alberta Child and Adolescent Addiction and Mental Health. The Family Counsellor is an advanced clinical position and provides mental health and risk assessment, referrals, clinical consultation and brief intervention with children and youth ages 5-17 years old who exhibit behaviour that puts them at risk for criminal involvement or victimization. This position requires skill in engaging children and families and assisting them in navigating systems to obtain appropriate supports. The candidate must have strong assessment and therapy skills and the proven ability to provide evidence-based episodic treatment. Strong collaborative skills, an understanding of partnerships and connection with community partners and the ability to coordinate service delivery with other Recovery Alberta services and staff. This position will be primarily supporting YARD and ReDirect, and will have a small caseload with MASST, but can be reassigned based on operational need.
As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Supervised training and 3-5 years' experience in Mental Health Assessment and Treatment Trauma informed training and experience required. Current knowledge and experience using of a range of clinical modalities including individual, family & group intervention is required. Advanced knowledge of DSM V required. Knowledge of community resources required. Experience delivering single-session and/or brief therapy modalities is required. Experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and related behavioral, cognitive and social issues required. Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and system navigation and case management required.Demonstrated commitment to Family and Client Centered Care required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills required.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community partners Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Trauma intensive training preferred. Level 1&2 training in Collaborative Problem Solving preferred. Brain Story Certified preferred. Must have a calm, warm and engaging style. Ability to work independently and meet necessary deadlines. Ability to be flexible and manage change.
