Job Summary
Plan IT Packaging Systems Inc. is looking for a dedicated and hands-on Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging machinery at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and start up packaging machines at customer facilities.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Train customer operators and maintenance teams on machine operation and safety.
- Perform preventive maintenance and machine inspections.
- Diagnose issues related to PLCs, sensors, actuators, and motion systems.
- Work closely with engineering and programming teams to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare detailed service reports and documentation after each visit.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/Degree/Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred, Omron etc.)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including weekends if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, servo systems, and VFDs.
- Experience with HMI interfaces and basic programming adjustments.
- Passport ready for international travel.
