We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and client-driven individual to join our growing team as a Client Accounting Services Supervisor, to assist us in providing service excellence, ensuring all aspects of our clients’ needs are met and exceeded. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Review client financial files for accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor Accounting Data Advisors, providing feedback on their performance and quality of work.
- Support onboarding and training for new team members.
- Serve as primary contact for clients on financial reporting, payroll, and advisory matters.
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, and payroll duties, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, staff and client payrolls, bank deposits, accounts payable, and other client payments.
- Prepare T4s, GST and other compliance returns.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end reporting.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient internal processes and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives like succession planning and operational improvements.
The successful candidate will have:
- at least 4 years’ experience in full cycle bookkeeping procedures
- payroll designation & experience considered an asset.
- At least 4 years’ experience in QuickBooks Online is required.
- Tech Stack experience including integration of apps is considered an asset.
- excellent computer skills and willingness to upgrade such skills, as required.
- experience in the management of multiple government contracts and knowledge of Provincial and Federal financial reporting requirements would be an asset.
In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have:
- Proven ability to lead priorities across a dynamic client service environment, balancing quality, deadlines, and team capacity.
- Strong planning and workflow management skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, adjust priorities, and support timely deliverables.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with confidence presenting information, resolving issues, and building trusted client and team relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review financial information, identify risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365, with the ability to leverage technology to improve accuracy, efficiency, and team workflows.
- Working knowledge of CRA regulations, employment standards, WCB, GST, and related compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to coach team members and support a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Sound judgment in handling confidential information, sensitive client matters, and privacy-related requirements.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen processes, service delivery, and team effectiveness.
