Reporting to the Manager, Administration, the Financial Administrator is responsible for supporting all companies within the Central Utility Services group.
Duties:
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Balance GLs
- Assist in financial accounting activities, including journal entries, receiving payments, preparing bank deposits and job costing reports
- Conduct accrual accounting to record expenses and revenues in the appropriate period
- Manage accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment processing, coding of transactions, review of entries and printing cheques
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist with auditing activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of balances and resolve discrepancies
Requirements:
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role
- Post secondary diploma , degree or certificate in Accounting or Finance - experienced candidates will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting practices
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis such as (Spectrum, MS Dynamics, JD Edwards)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision while prioritizing work to meet deadlines
- Class 5 driver's license
