Volunteer Opportunity: Accounting Data Entry and Assistant
Rhema Ministries is seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to join our Finance Department as a Data Entry and Accounting Assistant.
This volunteer position is for 3-6 months with the possibility of a longer term based on fit.
Time Commitment: Approximately 8*-10 hours per week. Hours are flexible and can be arranged based on your availability.*
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Accounts Payable email inbox.
- Enter invoices and receipts into Sage accounting software.
- Assist with revenue data entry in Sage.
- Reconcile revenue records, including cash and cheque deposits, debit machine transactions, online banking activity, and fundraising deposits.
- Ensure credit card receipts are received and follow up as needed.
- Reconcile Visa payments to vendors.
- Follow up with ministry departments regarding expense receipts related to advances.
- Complete Planning Center reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end financial reporting and audit preparation.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Accounting degree or similar qualification
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with data entry.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Sage accounting software is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
