Job Summary and Qualifications:
- Summary of Duties:
- Provides expertise and leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nutritional care of infants in the Neonatal ICU
- Focuses particularly on the nutrition support of extremely low birth weight infants
- Regularly attends and contributes to interprofessional morning rounds
- Prepares TPN and enteral feeding orders in collaboration with team members
- Provides consultative support for the Neonatal Follow Up Clinic as required
The successful candidate will participate in the advancement of patient care through quality initiatives and practice-based research. The candidate will also participate in the training of dietetic interns and other students.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
- Recent neonatal or related nutrition support experience required
- Demonstrate initiative, teamwork and ability to effectively prioritize work required
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills required
- Experience in providing patient/family counselling required
- Demonstrate application of evidence-based practice
