Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the shipping and receiving processes within our warehouse, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, proper inventory handling, and safe operation of warehouse equipment. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth warehouse operations and support our commitment to excellent customer service. You will develop strong relationships with branch staff and customers, by promoting our range of value-added products and services to the retail market and keep our stock up to date and in place ready for our customers.
Duties
Shipping:
● Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring all items are correctly labeled and packaged to prevent damage.
● Generate shipping labels and documentation using appropriate software and systems.
● Schedule and coordinate shipments with various carriers, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
● Verify shipment contents against shipping documents and packing slips.
● Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
● Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and safety standards.
● Load and secure shipments onto delivery vehicles.
Receiving:
● Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities and conditions against purchase orders and packing slips.
● Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
● Accurately record received items into inventory management systems.
● Unload and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
● Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.
● Process returns and damaged goods according to company procedures.
Training
● Keeping up to date on new products and services by attending training sessions
Communication:
● Communicating efficiently with other branch personnel as required
Other Duties:
● Performs warehouse duties (shipping and receiving) and moving cylinders for customers.
● Back-up for deliveries as needed.
● Assist with loading/unloading Gasco route trucks when required.
● Occasional support to additional locations
● Other duties as assigned by yourManager
Preferred Qualifications
● Knowledge of the gases and welding industry along with customer service experience is preferred.
● Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the industrial gases and/or industrial supply segment, and/or 1-2 years of sales experience
● High School diploma or equivalency
● Basic mechanical aptitude
● Valid B.C. Drivers license with a clean abstract
● Class 3 driver’s license
● Required Knowledge/Skills
● Be customer focused and be able to provide a very high level of customer service.
● Demonstrate a proven ability to manage existing accounts and develop new accounts/new business opportunities.
● Must be organized and possess good time management skills.
● Be able to listen.
● Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
