Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with primary responsibilities to accurately provide accounting services to the management of commercial and industrial properties.
This role will be assigned a number of properties, and accounting responsibilities will be as follows:
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation of GST
- Preparation of Receipts Batches
- Bank Reconciliation
- Preparation of monthly financial packages
- Completion of year-end financial working papers
- Rolling forward the preparation of annual budgets
- Entering budgets in the system once approved by clients
- Capital Asset Amortization
- Ensuring accurate and complete recording of all revenues and expenses
- Assisting Property Managers with financial inquiries
- Participation in various ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of full-cycle accounting experience preferred
- Diploma or equivalent post-secondary training with a focus on Accounting preferred
Preferred
- Prior experience with Yardi Voyager software
- Experience in Property Management accounting
- Experience in month-end processes
- Experience in year-end working paper preparation
Skills and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of accounting procedures, practices, and methods as it relates to the AP and full cycle accounting function
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle a large volume of transactions
- Strong analytical and intuitive accounting skills
