Whitby Shores Landscaping is a growing landscape construction company specializing in high-quality commercial & residential and custom outdoor projects. We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Estimator to lead our estimating efforts, build strong industry relationships, and support project delivery from bid through execution.
Position Overview
The Senior Estimator plays a key role in driving company growth by identifying new project opportunities, preparing competitive bids, and ensuring successful project handoff and execution. This role blends estimating, business development, and light project management, making it ideal for someone who thrives both in the office and in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Bidding
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for landscape construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Submit and track bids and follow up with clients
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities
- Build relationships with:
- Landscape architects and design firms
- Custom home builders
- General contractors and developers
- Work to get Whitby Shores Landscaping on approved bidder lists
- Attend networking events and industry opportunities
Project Coordination & Support
- Assist in transitioning awarded projects into production
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Support problem-solving during project execution
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in landscape construction estimating or similar role
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Experience working with custom homes or high-end residential projects (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines
