Merry-Hill Golf Club is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Starter for the golf season.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, spending time outdoors, and helping create an exceptional golf experience for our guests. As one of the first team members golfers interact with before heading onto the course, you will play a key role in setting the tone for their day.

The Starter is the key person responsible for greeting guests, verifying tee times and payments, managing the flow of play, and ensuring golfers begin their rounds in an orderly and efficient manner. Working closely with the Golf Shop and Player's Assistant team, the Starter helps maintain an enjoyable pace of play while delivering exceptional customer service.

Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the Starter's Station

Manage and understand tee sheet rotation and daily play schedules

Send groups to the first tee on time while maintaining proper spacing between groups

Monitor and assist with the pace of play throughout the day

Communicate regularly with the Golf Shop regarding tee sheet changes, additions, cancellations, and guest check-ins

Maintain accurate starter records, including pace of play tracking and power cart assignments

Assist with the staging and organization of power carts

Place scorecards in carts and ensure guests are prepared for their round

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Starter's Station, practice areas, and pull-cart staging areas

Ensure practice facilities remain tidy and welcoming for guests

Handle guest compliments, concerns, and complaints professionally, with a focus on guest satisfaction

Support special events, tournaments, and daily golf operations as required
