The Construction Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and preparing residential, commercial, and industrial construction sites during and after construction projects. This role ensures work areas are safe, clean, and ready for inspections, occupancy, or the next phase of construction. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while following all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rough, final, and touch-up cleaning on construction sites.
- Remove construction debris, dust, and waste materials from work areas.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and clean floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces.
- Clean bathrooms, kitchens, fixtures, cabinets, and appliances.
- Remove stickers, labels, paint overspray, caulking, and adhesive residue.
- Dust vents, light fixtures, baseboards, trim, and other finished surfaces.
- Empty garbage bins and dispose of waste according to site procedures.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers (where applicable).
- Follow all workplace health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report safety hazards, damages, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while on customer job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in construction cleaning, commercial cleaning, or general labour is preferred but not required.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
