Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Server to join our team in a retirement living environment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality dining service to residents while ensuring a warm, respectful, and professional experience. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach when working with seniors.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet residents in a friendly and respectful manner during meal service
- Take meal orders accurately and deliver food and beverages promptly
- Ensure resident dietary requirements, allergies, and preferences are followed as directed
- Set up and reset dining areas before and after each meal service
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room, service stations, and equipment
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and dietary staff regarding orders and special requests
- Assist residents as needed in a patient, respectful, and supportive manner
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment at all times
- Support special events, themed meals, and catering functions as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a server, food service worker, or hospitality role (retirement home or healthcare experience is an asset)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach when working with seniors
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Certifications
- Food Handler Certification (Required)
- Smart Serve Certification (Asset)
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
