Industrial Hygiene Technician
Location: Northern Ontario (In-Camp)
Salary: $49.51 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Contractual
Shift Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off (12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities
-
Exposure Monitoring: Execute routine sampling plans for physical, chemical, and biological hazards.

Hazard Focus: Target and monitor site-specific hazards including silica dust, lime, cyanide, SO2, HCN, and noise.

Equipment Care: Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot air sampling pumps, noise dosimeters, and gas monitors.

Data & Reporting: Partner with accredited labs, calculate exposure levels, and generating technical reports.

Risk Mitigation: Apply the Hierarchy of Controls to recommend engineering and administrative changes.

Training Delivery: Develop and deliver occupational health training programs to frontline crews and supervisors.

Audits & Investigations: Conduct site inspections and support hazard exposure incident investigations.

Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and mitigation strategies to management, site teams, and the JHSC.
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 2 to 5 years of field-based industrial hygiene experience.

Industry Background: Prior experience in heavy industry or hard-rock mining environments is highly preferred.

Education: Diploma or Degree in OHS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act for Mines.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management.

Physical Fitness: Physical ability to continuously navigate demanding underground and surface mining environments.

Certifications (Asset): Active pursuit or possession of CRSP, ROH, or CIH designations.
