Job Description
The Product Owner (PO) is responsible for the product vision and for maximizing the value delivered by the development team. They work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define, prioritize, and refine product requirements based on business objectives and user needs. They play a key role as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring that deliverables align with the organization’s overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to defining the product vision in collaboration with product directors and stakeholders.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the product delivery roadmap and deployment strategies.

Manage the backlog by prioritizing delivery sequencing and writing user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria (in partnership with Business Analysts depending on the project).

Gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with solution architects and firmware, electronic, and mechanical developers.

Participate in design reviews, acceptance testing, and post-delivery follow-up.

Lead and/or contribute to every stage of the product development lifecycle: exploration, development, releases, and product stabilization (defects).

Contribute to governance of physical product development, including providing visibility on roadmaps, risks, challenges, and mitigation plans.

Manage and prioritize the defect backlog and ensure tracking of fixes.

Identify risks and issues and contribute to mitigation planning.

Manage stakeholders.

Ensure smooth and consistent communication across disciplines for coherent integration of solutions into products.

Engage teams around the product vision.
Qualifications
-
University degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
-
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a PO, functional analyst, or hybrid role.

Experience with physical electronic products (e.g., cameras, IoT, embedded systems).

Strong understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and firmware development.

Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and related tools (JIRA, Confluence).

Good understanding of technical constraints and development processes.

Strong ability to structure and organize teamwork around clear and measurable objectives.

Adaptability in the face of uncertainty and changing priorities.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to analyze and document functional requirements and solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Collaborative leadership and ability to mobilize teams.

Strong organizational skills, rigor, and autonomy.

Ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term vision.

Excellent communication and simplification skills (French/English).

Bilingual in French and English (may need to communicate outside the province).

Available to travel to Montréal or Victoriaville a few times per month.
