SJW Decks is hiring a Carpenter’s Helper for the 2026 season. We’re looking for a reliable, motivated individual to assist with railings, deck and fence building through the end of the year. Previous deck-building experience is an asset, but not required. We’re willing to train the right person.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1+ years of construction or carpentry experience
- Basic hand tools (including a pouch, impact, and drill)
- A reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license to get to job sites
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the lead carpenter with various tasks on-site
- Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for projects
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Loading and unloading materials and supplies
- Following safety protocols
