This individual will perform a variety of tasks related to supervision, horticultural and grounds maintenance. This position can become full-time, with the completion of a 3-month probation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Shall either hold current BCLNA certifications, or shall have successfully completed an apprenticeship, a recognized horticulture diploma or degree, or journeyman trade qualification.
- 3-5 years of horticulture and supervisory experience (Lawn Maintenance, Hedge and Shrub Trimming, Plant knowledge, Pruning)
- Proficient operation of machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner, such as a lawnmower, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, leaf blower, and ladder. Able to train employees in same.
- Holds a valid B.C. Driver's License and is able to drive a truck and trailer.
- Knowledge of the materials and methods used in both horticulture and other related trades.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively, using courtesy and tact, in the explanation and exchange of information with both clients and employees.
- Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within the limits of established methods and procedures.
- Physical ability to perform the required duties, including the ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (25-50 lbs) with safety and care.

Job Description:
Position Title: Landscape Worker/Supervisor
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required. Preference will be given to candidates with horticultural certification.
Experience: 2 to 3 years
Work Site Environment: Outdoors
Tasks:
- Perform lawn mowing, hedging, gardening, weeding, and pruning trees.
- Supervise and lead a landscaping crew.
- Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
- Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions.
- Assess the health of lawns.
- Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and diseases.
- Plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses, and other purposes.
- Plan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, and other landscape structures.
- Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
- Plant and relocate trees.
Requirements:
- Possession of a Class 5 Driver's License.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Experience with trucks and trailers.
- Preferred knowledge or courses in horticulture.
Wage:
- $23-$30/ hour (based on the experience and skill)
