Site Manager – Commercial Construction
Gibraltar Construction is a commercial general contractor specializing in tenant improvement and interior renovation projects across the Lower Mainland.
We are hiring an experienced Site Manager with a strong commercial construction background. This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently manage a project while also assisting with construction work when required.
The position is primarily based in the Lower Mainland. The ability and willingness to occasionally work out of town is an asset, but is not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations on commercial tenant improvement and renovation projects.
- Coordinate subtrades, deliveries, access, inspections, and project sequencing.
- Communicate with Project Managers, trades, suppliers, clients, and Operations.
- Review drawings and identify site issues, conflicts, and upcoming requirements.
- Complete daily reports, safety documentation, progress photos, and project records using company systems.
- Maintain project schedules, quality standards, site cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Enforce company and WorkSafeBC safety requirements.
Perform hands-on work when required, including:
- Steel-stud framing and drywall.
- T-bar ceiling installation and repairs.
- Finishing carpentry.
- Door, frame, and hardware installation.
- Washroom accessories.
- Blocking, deficiencies, and general site fixes.
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of construction experience.
- Proven ability to independently run commercial construction sites.
- Commercial tenant improvement, office, retail, medical, or renovation experience preferred.
- Dental-office construction experience is an HUGE asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial sequencing, subtrade coordination, and finishing requirements.
- Hands-on carpentry and general construction skills are a strong asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working evening or extended shifts when project requirements demand it.
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and required PPE.
- Willingness to occasionally work out of town is an asset but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00-$93,500.00 per year
