THE ROLE
We are hiring a Flagperson to support our client with a short-term highway rehabilitation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing traffic safely through active work zones along a highway section. This is outdoor work requiring attention, communication, and reliability.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Direct and control traffic using stop/slow paddles
- Communicate clearly with drivers and construction crews
- Maintain safe traffic flow through work zones
- Stay alert and follow all safety procedures at all times
- Work outdoors for full shifts in varying weather conditions
- Project duration: approximately 5 weeks
- Schedule: 4–5 days per week
- Start time: 7:00 AM daily
- Work location: Highway section between Lethbridge and Southern Bay
REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand for long periods and remain alert
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication and awareness skills
- Steel toe work boots, high-visibility vest, and hard hat required
- Reliable transportation required (not transit accessible)
- At least one worker must provide a clean driver’s abstract and be able to operate a company vehicle
- Previous flagging or construction experience is an asset, but not required
