Position Details
- Availability required on Saturdays at the Stratford Farmers' Market (with the possibility of Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and/or other Saturday markets as the season progresses)
- Season runs May through October
- Set up and take down of market booth (tent, tables, product displays, signage)
- Handling and organizing product, including coolers and inventory management throughout the market
- Engaging with customers—answering questions, educating them on our beef, and sharing our farm story
- Confidently selling products, making recommendations, and upselling cuts and bundles
- Processing transactions (cash and electronic payments) accurately
- Keeping the booth clean, stocked, and visually appealing throughout the day
Qualifications
- Experience in retail sales, technical sales, or merchandising is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including customer service expertise
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Organizational skills to manage product displays and inventory efficiently
- Knowledge of retail tools such as POS systems and merchandising techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- A friendly attitude with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers
- Previous experience in sales or cashiering roles is advantageous but not required
