We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Die Cleaner to join our team in the Vaughan (Highway 7 & Highway 27) area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation of Material
- Must be able to drill, tap and remove broken screw
- Check die to ensure it balances to print
- Identify any tool that requires anodizing
- Maintain inventory of heater plates, adaptors, thermo couples, etc.
- Clean and inspect dies and vacuums
- Recommend changes to improve the quality of tooling and the profiles
- Maintain tools and supplies in good working order
- Maintain work area in a clean state and free from obstructions
- Perform inventory functions as applicable
Quick Changeover Program
- Must ensure tooling to be set-up is cleaned (Die, Head, Vacuum, Water tank)
- Ensure that all tooling have been assembled onto Die Kart (i.e. Gate, Head and Die)
- Must clean old tooling and vacuum/water tank
- Must place cleaned tooling and vacuum/water tank in proper storage location
Housekeeping
- Keep work area clean
- Place scrap material in designated material bins
- Participate in the PVC Recovery program, ensure recycling of:
- Melts
- Shavings
- End cuts
Other
- Comply with established safety rules
- Comply with company policy and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to satisfaction of Production Supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Possess a basic understanding of extruder operation
- Ability to accurately inspect tooling using applicable tools and measuring devices
- Able to record results of inspections clearly and neatly, when applicable
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
- Ability to work effectively without supervision
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively
- Ability to adapt quickly to new procedures, equipment and other workplace changes
- Ability to work a rotating shift, six days per week considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience in a similar role

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
