Amherst Supply Ltd. is a family-owned and operated store in the lumber, building supply, and agricultural feed industry. We are looking for a dedicated, customer service driven, and organized individual to supervise in the day-to-day business operations of our lumber yard.
**Candidate MUST have at least 4 years experience in a Lumber Yard **
Duties and Skills of the Supervisor include:
- Manage, oversee, and verify any work done by the yard/warehouse associates
- Train and assist yard associates when required
- Prepare (pick) and load materials in a timely manner so as to meet delivery deadlines and customer commitments
- Use, coordinate, and organize delivery schedule via Microsoft Excel and contact customers with delivery dates and times
- Receive, unload/unpack, and sort incoming shipments in a timely manner; verify and authorize the product received
- Prepare and file all paperwork (packing slips, delivery tickets, picking tickets etc.) to its designated area
- Ensure good housekeeping and safety procedures are practiced at all times
- Perform inspections on all equipment prior to use
- Owned equipment maintenance scheduling
- Clean and maintain the warehouse/yard to ensure it is always kept in a tidy and safe manner at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times while ensuring customers' needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner.
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Use safe work practices at all times, and participate in environmentally sound behaviours.
- Assist with other duties assigned by the store manager.
- Forklift license required
Requirements and Qualifications include:
- Full-time supervisory position (not intended for students attending school during the day)
- Available to work up to 44 hours per week
- Available to work weekends
- Physical labour is a requirement of this position; the candidate must be able to lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis
- Must be able to work in hot/cold weather conditions
- Strong communication and leadership skills (must be able to delegate tasks and oversee employee performance)
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
