Position Title
Director of Finance
Reports To

One year or as determined by the Board of Directors and MPI Chapter Bylaws.
Position Summary
The Director of Finance supports the financial management and fiscal health of the Chapter by assisting with budgeting, financial reporting, record keeping, and financial administration. This role helps ensure financial accuracy, accountability, and compliance while supporting the Board of Directors in achieving the Chapter's strategic goals.

Qualifications
- Member in good standing with MPI
- Previous volunteer or committee experience is considered an asset
- Basic understanding of budgeting and financial management principles
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Willingness to dedicate the time and enthusiasm required for the role
General Responsibilities
- Attend Board of Directors meetings as required
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Support policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors
- Assist with the transition of financial records and processes to incoming volunteers
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the President
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Administration
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the Chapter budget
- Help track Chapter income and expenses throughout the fiscal year
- Assist in preparing financial reports for Board meetings
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Help monitor budget performance and identify any variances
Financial Operations
- Assist with processing invoices, reimbursements, and other approved payments
- Help ensure funds are deposited and recorded accurately
- Support the maintenance of banking records and financial files
- Assist with financial reconciliation as required
- Help ensure financial procedures are followed consistently
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain organized financial documentation
- Assist with preparing information required for tax filings, audits, or annual reporting
- Support compliance with MPI financial policies and Chapter Bylaws
- Help track permit renewals and other required financial documentation
Event & Revenue Support
- Work with event teams to track event budgets and financial performance
- Assist with fundraising and sponsorship revenue tracking
- Support financial reconciliation following Chapter events
- Help monitor revenue and expenses for Chapter initiatives
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Board members on financial matters
- Provide financial information to committees as requested
- Support smooth financial transitions between Board terms
- Assist with projects that contribute to the Chapter's financial sustainability
Time Commitment
The Director of Finance is expected to actively participate in Chapter leadership activities, including:
- Regular attendance at Chapter events
- Attendance at Board of Directors meetings
- Participation in finance-related meetings as required
- Attendance at Board retreats
- Participation in leadership development opportunities when available
