Plan, develop and implement Medeba's Leader in Training Program.
- At least 1 summer as an LIT Cabin Leader at Medeba or equivalent.
- Experience teaching and instructing teenagers age 15-17
- Experience teaching and doing outdoor activities such as belaying, boating, rock climbing, and others.
- Completion of Medeba's Prosago Program is an asset
- Mental Health First Aid Training is an asset
- F Class Drivers License is an asset
- Plan and implement Medeba's Leaders in Training Program with assistance from Summer Camp Assistant Director.
- Planning includes creating the LIT schedule, plan and prepare each session, booking out trips, assembling LIT participant binders, etc.)
- Plan and implement LIT trips including canoe trips, rock climbing trips, and white water trips.
- Arrange and negotiate any details of the program that requires coordination or permissions from other areas/staff.
- Meet and greet incoming campers and parents
- Lead a team of LIT cabin staff, including training, weekly meetings and instruction.
- Teach sessions including leadership, discipleship, outdoor activities, and more.
- Mentor and teach the teenagers in the program.
- Ensure evaluation of LITs is done in accordance with the program.
- Ensure Medeba's LIT targets and boundaries are being upheld.
- Ensure Medeba's Risk Management is adehered to in all areas of LIT (acitvities, social safety, etc.)
- Create opportunities to have spiritual conversations with LIT campers.
- Participate in designated weekly small group.
- Be apart of Medeba's Summer Leadership Team by attending and participating in weekly meetings and supporting the team.
Age Requirement: 20 years old
Honorarium: starts at $290/week
