Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our logistics team. This role involves safely transporting freight across various routes while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Secure freight properly using appropriate tools and techniques to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklift or heavy equipment when necessary
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with Class 1 licenses
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of freight handling, securing loads, and transportation regulations
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the go
- Strong organizational skills for managing delivery schedules and documentation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to operate heavy equipment when required, demonstrating safety awareness at all times
