Position Summary

Cambrian College’s Schools of Health Sciences and Emergency Services has an immediate requirement for (2) two Medical Laboratory Technologists for 24 hours per week on a regular part-time basis.

Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Part-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with faculty to support the delivery of laboratory courses
Reinforce previously taught theory and laboratory techniques.
Provide student feedback in the laboratory setting.
Assist faculty with demonstrations of laboratory procedures and safe laboratory practices.
Assist with the preparation, setup, organization, stocking, and cleanup of laboratory facilities
Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure laboratories remain safe, functional, and ready for instruction.
Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory, specimens, supplies, and laboratory waste in accordance with regulatory requirements and established laboratory procedures.
Collaborate with faculty and fellow technologists to promote a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.

Qualifications

Required:

Minimum of a three-year postsecondary diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).Current Practising License with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in good standing.
Must hold current First Aid and CPR certificates.
Three years of experience as a medical laboratory technologist.
Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Assets:

Previous teaching, clinical instruction, or student mentoring experience in a postsecondary or clinical setting.
Adult education certification
