Overview
The Landscapes - Lake of Bays is looking for a full-time, year-round Operations & Maintenance employee. This is a permanent position (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM - Sunday to Thursday) with 2 weeks annual paid vacation. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience with some heavy machinery operator, carpentry and other handy-man skills. The ideal candidate should reside in the Muskoka area.
1. The position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the resort, ensuring that the facilities and grounds are well-maintained and safe for owners and guests. Key responsibilities include third party contractor management, general repairs and preventative maintenance. Other responsibilities will include trouble shooting, basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry, grounds keeping, equipment operation and maintenance, safety inspections and adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) candidates are preferred, but not initially required. The successful candidate will ultimately have to acquire CPO certification.
2. All candidates should have prior hospitality industry experience along with strong organizational and communication skills. All O&M personnel will report directly to the General Manager. Initial on-site training and orientation will be provided.
3. Compensation for a 40.0-hour work week (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 0.5 hours for lunch) will be commensurate with previous work experience in the range of $25 to $30hr. The work week will be Sunday through Thursday.
4. The successful candidate will be required to complete an initial six week probationary period.
