Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tile surfaces in residential and commercial properties. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of construction standards. The Tile Setter will work closely with project managers and clients to ensure high-quality results that meet specifications and deadlines.
Duties
- Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation according to blueprints and project requirements
- Use hand tools such as trowels, cutters, levels, and spacers to lay tiles accurately
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout and design specifications
- Cut, shape, and install tiles on floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces
- Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place
- Ensure proper grouting, caulking, and sealing of tiled surfaces for durability and aesthetic appeal
- Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris and excess materials during and after installation
- Collaborate with carpenters, handymen, and other tradespeople to coordinate project tasks
- Inspect completed work for quality control, ensuring adherence to safety standards and building codes
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work
- Familiarity with hand tools used in tile setting and general carpentry skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and finishing touches for professional results
- Previous handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in construction tasks
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and building regulations
