A growing TRANSPORTATION Company located in Millet, AB, is currently seeking an individual to fulfill the role of health, safety and environmental specialist.

The position will primarily be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and maintenance of Liquids in Motion’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and programs for both our Canadian and USA companies.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Administer HSE Management System, including reviewing and writing policies and procedures to ensure they are aligned with HS&E regulations and codes
· Ensure Emergency Response Plan is current and liaise with local authorities regarding the Plan
· Perform routine site inspections for compliance with HS&E regulations, including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations
· Conduct HSE reviews as the Company’s internal auditor to ensure procedural compliance, including contractors and sub-contractors
· Ensure incidents or near misses are recognized and investigated; carry out route cause analysis and assist in implementation of corrective actions
· Lead monthly and quarterly HSE meetings and supervise employees regarding HSE requirements
· Identify and initiate the necessary actions to control and mitigate worksite hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices to prevent incident, injury and illness
· Assist with HR on-boarding process and perform and track new employee and contractor safety orientations
· Track, plan, conduct and/or arrange training programs for employees to facilitate compliance and manage employee safety files
· Participate on behalf of the Employer where required in safety-related activities
· Lead and manage achievement of certification from regulatory agencies such as Avetta (PICS), COR (Certificate of Recognition), and ISNetworld
· Compile safety stats and trends
· Work with WCB to follow-up on incidents and ensure effective case management
· Maintain current knowledge of OHS Act, Regulation and Code as well as all other safety codes and legislation relative to the company
· Complete health and safety audit courses as required to fulfill company regulatory requirements
· Other duties as required
Requirements:
· Safety certification in an accredited OHS program and the ability to conduct internal audits an asset
· Knowledge of the trucking and energy industry preferred
· Understanding of Federal, Provincial and Municipal OHS legislation and interpretation
· Strong attention to detail
· Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel
· Excellent communication and report writing skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Decision making and problem solving ability
· Valid Alberta Driver’s License with clean abstract, Class 1 or 3 preferred
· Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing / physical demands analysis
