Job Summary
Cole Harbour Place is currently accepting applications for a part time lifeguard position. This position offers a total of 6-20 hours per week from September 8th to December 31st. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, quick-thinking, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for all visitors. This role offers flexible hours and an opportunity to work in a dynamic, community-focused setting.
Responsibilities
- Prevent injuries, incidents and emergencies by performing effective scanning and educating the public on safe pool behavior as well as facility rules.
- Respond to minor and major incidents/situations and administer first aid in the event of injury.
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior while interacting positively with staff and patrons.
- Perform routine safety inspections of all aquatic equipment/facilities and inform aquatic supervisors of any concerns.
- Complete paperwork including a daily logbook, pool reports and incident reports.
- Maintain a level of fitness required to perform rescues and tasks associated with the duties of a lifeguard.
Skills
- National Lifesaving and Intermediate Workplace First Aid certification required
- Swim for Life certification, Lifesaving Instructor certification and Oxygen Administration certification is an asset
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard is an asset
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Ability to commit to 6-20 hours per week for a 3 month term

Pay: $16.75-$17.25 per hour
