About Lima Café:
Lima Café is a locally owned dessert and coffee shop in Burnaby inspired by the flavours and spirit of Lima, Peru. We specialize in homemade desserts, specialty coffee, and creating a warm neighbourhood experience.
We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and friendly Barista who enjoys working with people and supporting the team during busy service.
Job type:
2–4 shifts per week depending on availability
Schedule:
- Shifts between 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Typically 4–6 hours per shift
- Weekend availability required
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide warm, attentive service
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and simple beverages
- Plate and serve desserts with attention to presentation
- Operate POS system and process payments accurately
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Maintain cleanliness of the café and work stations
- Support the kitchen with simple tasks such as dishwashing, plating, and restocking
- Help the team during busy periods and contribute to a smooth service
Qualifications:
- Previous barista or café experience preferred
- Ability to stay organized and efficient during busy service periods
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude
- Proactive mindset and willingness to help wherever needed
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong communication skills in English
- FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset (can be obtained after hiring)
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
