Vernon Catering & Hospitality Group (Wings and 1516 Pub & Grill) is looking for EXPERIENCED LINE COOKS.
Our group has two big, busy, and beautiful restaurant locations committed to excellent hospitality. We are situated in the city’s busiest neighborhoods, workplace hubs, and tourist destinations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Mentoring and developing kitchen partners, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance.
Operational Excellence: Ensuring consistent food quality, safety, and strict adherence to recipes and standards.
Financial Management: Driving sales, controlling food costs, and managing kitchen profitability.
Menu & Quality Control: Collaborating with regional leaders to deliver menu items and maintaining inventory.
Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant culinary management role.
Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and business acumen.
Certifications: Valid food safety certification (e.g., Food Safe) and First Aid certification.
Attributes: Entrepreneurial spirit, passionate, and dedicated to elevating the team and brand.
Hours of Work
Head chefs and Sous Chefs typically work long, full-time hours, often averaging 30-40+ hours per week, with 8 hour shifts common. The schedule heavily features evenings, weekends, split shifts, and holidays, particularly in busy restaurants or seasonal resorts.
Previous experience required.
