Salary: $22 - $24 per hour (To be negotiated)

On site Job: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Job Description
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, maki rools, specialty rolls, and other traditional Japanese cuisines.
- Select and prepare raw fish and seafood, ensuring proper handling, cutting techniques, and food safety standards
- Prepare sushi rice following traditional preparation methods and seasoning standards.
- Maintain high standards for presentation, portion control, and freshness of ingredients
- Develop and prepare specialty sushi menu items and seasonal offerings
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene regulations.
- Maintain inventory and records of fish, seafood, and sushi ingredients and report shortages.
- Oversee or manage kitchen operations
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain a clean and organized sushi preparation station
Qualification Requirements
- At least Secondary Education, or with culinary certificate or diploma
- At least 2-3 years’ work experience preparing sushi in a commercial kitchen
- Experience in handling and preparing raw fish and seafood for sushi and sashimi
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine techniques and sushi preparation methods
- Good oral communication. Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A positive and team-oriented attitude Must be dependable and organized
