We are seeking a Junior Architectural Millwork Estimator to join our team in our Abbotsford offices. Please note that this is an in office position.
Reporting to the Sr. Estimator and the CEO you will become part of a team that works on some of the highest profile projects in North America.
As a Millwork Estimator, you will play a key role in assisting with cost estimation, project budgeting, and bid preparation for projects. Working closely with Senior Estimators and the CEO, you will develop your skills in quantity take-offs, material pricing while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all estimating tasks.
This is a full-time, in-person position from Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate quantity takeoffs and counts of Architectural Millwork items using industry specific software - Bluebeam Revu from architectural drawings and specifications
- ·Read and interpret Architectural/ Interior Design drawings and specification
- Perform Accurate quantity takeoffs and counts of Architectural Millwork items using industry specific software – Bluebeam Revu
- Obtain outside Vendor quotes
- Working with the Estimating team to offer solutions to issues that come up during the tender process
- Creating Bid Correspondence and Submitting Bid on time
- Keeping project documents updated
- Working with General Contractor on all Changes/ Addenda
- Collaborate with General Contractors/ Design Authority
- Organize Bid documents and communicate all relevant information to set Project Management up for success
- Communicate all relevant information to Project Management at Handover
- Work with team to keep the project on budget
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in the Millwork/ Finish Carpentry Trade - Journeyman level is an asset
- General understanding of every step in the Millwork process from pre-construction through Installation
- Professionalism and interpersonal communication proficiency
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Detail orientated
- Extensive use of memory and diligent notetaking
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work to a deadline
- Flexibility
- Ability to take ownership of your bid/ quote/ job
