Join us in shaping the future of transit. As Program Coordinator, you'll support the successful delivery of major capital projects—from network expansions and new facilities to vehicle procurements and fleet modernization. You'll coordinate stakeholders, track progress, provide strategic insights, and help ensure complex, multi-year projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Main point of contact for Vehicles Group’s overall Capital Expansion Projects, for both internal and external stakeholders;
- Coordinates and manages activities across programs to ensure interdependencies are communicated
- Identifies, monitors and provides oversight on dependencies across programs/projects,
- Liaises with stakeholders to review and ensure program/project impacts are seamless protecting the needs of the Vehicles group
- Establishes relationships and maintains buy-in from key stakeholders in the organization to support program deliverables and outcomes
- Administers the planning, development, and implementation of all related projects within the Group
- Manages scope of project to ensure it remains within budget and timeframes. Monitors progress to reduce risks and initiate timely corrective action when required
- Assists in developing targets and criteria to measure and evaluate the effectiveness and success of the Program, including the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Program
- Develops and implements project control systems, cost evaluation methodologies and performance evaluation criteria for consultant/contractor selection in accordance with established corporate policies and guidelines
- Establishes and coordinates work plans against defined project scope, contract requirements, budget and schedule
- Prepares reports and presentations for both internal and external parties, including Board Reports
- Conducts special research related to projects as assigned
- Ensuring adherence to TTC safety policies and requirements of applicable legislation e.g. (M.O.L and O.H.S.A.)
- Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. - A completed University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline, along with several years of experience in administration/coordination; or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or similar certification, or be eligible to achieve certification is considered an asset
- Experience and understanding of transit operations and maintenance of transit vehicles (subway and/or streetcar)
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle asset management planning and principles, and engineering and configuration change management
- Must have or rapidly acquire an understanding of quality assurance and control standards, life cycle management, costing, and knowledge of data collection, validation, analysis and uses
- Experience in the areas of general project management and engineering management of transit vehicles and/or large multi-disciplinary projects
- Superior oral and written communication skills as well as presentation abilities
- Proficiency in the use of computer based scheduling systems and other computerized applications related to the work (e.g. MS Project, Maximo, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, etc.)
- Proficiency in PowerBI
- Sound judgement and ability to work independently; strong analytical skills and organizational skills to handle several priorities at once; good attention to detail
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
