Position Summary:
The Plasma Center Manager serves a financial and administrative function for the Plasma Center, managing donors, employees and public relations. Center Manager provides the resources for ongoing operation of the Plasma Center.
The Center Manager manages and oversees donor recruitment strategies, and disciplinary manages plasma center staff including reception, screening, donation, production, quality, finance, HR, and IT.
Maintains administrative aspects of operation compliance with available SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP), and regulatory guidelines.

To ensure that the Plasma Center operates to the highest standards of ethics and quality at optimal efficiency in a safe and comfortable environment
Position Responsibilities:
Human Resources / Staff Management:
1. Foster a philosophy and culture focused on teamwork, ethics and ongoing improvement.
2. Organize work hours, shifts and vacations for staff.
3. Conduct recruitment, training, development, counseling, disciplinary actions and termination of center operation staff.
4. Manage effectively employee turnover within center operations. Adhere to HR policies and practices through fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Communicate effectively with HR to ensure compliance.
5. Assist the HO- Training Department, acting as the center Training coordinator. Communicate effectively with the Training Department Manager to assist with training progress and address any training needs.
6. In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supervise center daily activities. Provide clear and consistent instructions and directions, conduct meetings, and clearly communicate performance expectations.
7. Advise management of employee relation issues or escalated donor issues.
8. Ensure the center is staffed with adequate number of personnel to provide sufficient support based upon center size, structure and donor flow. Monitor time clock reporting procedures, attendance, and utilization of overtime.
9. Perform performance reviews of staff and provides effective feedback regarding performance with management review, document verbal and written coaching level corrective actions as needed.
10. Organize, develop, and utilize management team. Develop a “partnership” with the Quality department to promote productive interactions between Operations and Quality personnel.
11. Keep immediate supervisor informed of any irregularities within the center and provide constructive information about process improvements.
Center Operation Management:
1. Handle all general inquiries from external stakeholders or donors.
2. Maintain clean efficient work environment, and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available. Comply with all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures Promote safety in all actions.
3. Manage all inventories to the optimum levels by maximizing efficiencies, customer service levels and minimizing investment.
4. Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
5. Monitor donor retention, ensure efficient donor flow, and implement donor retention improvement and corrective action plans, as required.
6. Responsible for overall center quality compliance by ensuring the business is inspection ready at all times and meetings with Quality department staff to include but not limited to regulatory and customer requirements to ensure the purity and efficacy of the plasma and the safety of donors and employees. Communicate any quality concerns or issues to Quality department.
7. Collect and analyzes data to maintain and improve center quality, efficiency and profitability. Implement effective correction action plans when appropriate
8. Maintain and monitor equipment performance including after hours on call responsibilities and vendor relationships needed for emergency repair services and product temperature maintenance.
9. Assure facility is maintained in a neat and clean condition and all equipment is kept in good working order.
10. Minimize center liability through constant risk management review.
Marketing/Finances:
11. Build rapport with current donors and potential donors to attract them to the Plasma Center and retain them.
12. Develop and manage all evidence-based marketing plans for the Plasma Center (including management of social networking and website contents).
13. Communicate all company-wide or Center-specific information to employees and donors, if applicable.
14. Managing financial accounts for the Center (ordering supplies and materials).
15. May assist with the development and implementation of marketing initiatives to increase donor retention.
16. Responsible for all aspects of financial oversight including setting annual budget, ensuring center meets monthly financial targets and on-going cash management objectives, and adhering to cash management, financial reporting and other financial responsibilities.
17. Ensure excellent customer service by all staff. Provide a model of good customer service to employees. Communicate openly with customers. Effectively resolve complaints or concerns.
18. Monitor all marketing and advertising to ensure effectively executing programs for desired results. Make applicable recommendations to improve effectiveness.
19. Represent the Company and center in the community and with other business, local publications and vendors.
20. Submit timely and accurate reports as necessary, including payroll and accounts payable management.
21. Control facility donor funds.
22. Educates new donors on the use of products made from donated plasma. This includes explaining the process, the tests performed, the appointment system, fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor or referring the donor to knowledgeable staff. Ensures that all donors’ questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally by the relevant trained staff.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
1. Post-secondary education in Public Relations, Business Administration, Health Sciences or at least 5 years of managerial or industry experience.
2. Effective communication, conflict management and interpersonal skills.
3. Proven ability to write and present.
4. Problem solving, analytical and planning experience and skill.
5. Knowledge of national and international regulations for the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
6. Proficiency with commonly used computer software (Microsoft Office, project management software)
7. Ability to make decisions which have significant impact on the department’s creditability, operations and service.
8. Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as authoritative reports of major scope and impact, etc. and/or to make formal presentations.
