The Welding Shop Calgary is a growing structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company seeking a motivated Shop Labourer / Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the steel fabrication and welding industry.
Responsibilities
- Sanding, grinding, and preparing steel components for fabrication and finishing
- Assisting welders and fabricators with daily shop activities
- Moving materials, parts, and finished products throughout the shop and yard
- Preparing parts for fabrication and assembly
- Loading and unloading steel deliveries
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment (training provided as required)
- Assisting with general shop duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and moving steel materials
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Experience with hand and power tools is considered an asset
- Previous fabrication, construction, or industrial experience is an asset but not required
- Valid driver's license is preferred
