Custom wood component millwork project shop is looking for an experienced Millwork Benchman/CNC with skills and experience in specialty wood joinery, assembly and veneering.
This position produces the custom components that go into many high end architectural residential and commercial millwork projects in the local BC market. To support future growth, we are currently looking for an intermediate level Millwork Benchman to take on key responsibilities in breakout, machining and assembly of components used in residential and commercial millwork and finish carpentry projects. You will also provide customer support to current and potential clients as well as supporting daily operations workflow and be a key member of the production team.
To fully qualify for this position, you must have;
- Two years of experience in a custom woodworking shop making custom woodwork, mouldings, door, furniture, millwork, closet or other wood product manufacturing environment.
- Ideally you have formal training in joinery through an apprenticeship program and at least two or three years experience in a specialty millwork production environment.
- Advanced techniques in wood bending to make curved components is ideal.
- Must be able to program and operate a nesting CNC router such as Biesse, Morbidelli, Thermwood, SCM, Homag etc. Must be able to program in standard CNC+CAD software, preferably MasterCAM to create simple CAD drawings and generate tool paths for parts as well as some fixtures to hold parts for machining.
- Must be able to balance efficiency, productivity and quality factors to maximize throughput, material utilization, and tool life while preserving overall profitability.
- Must be able to always maintain the safety of yourself and others through best practices on the production floor and in the workplace in general
- You must be a team player, able to work with our existing operations staff to develop new product opportunities, provide customer service to clients, and resolve production challenges.

This is a stable, full time position working Monday to Friday day shift.
