MIG, TIG, and laser welding for high-profile retail displays.
The company is a design-led manufacturer of retail experiences. They fabricate and weld the displays, fixtures, and structures that go into stores for global brands, national brands, and big-box retailers across the country.
They are looking for a skilled welder who can run steel, aluminum, and stainless to spec — clean welds, to the drawing, every time.
This is a hands-on welding role for someone who knows their craft. You’ll weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components using MIG, TIG, and laser processes, working from drawings and specifications to build custom displays, fixtures, and metal structures.
You will work across a wide range of projects in a fast-paced shop, alongside a team that holds a high bar for quality.
Job Duties:
- MIG, TIG, and laser weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components to spec
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine welding requirements
- Set up welding machines based on job requirements
- Create, follow, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Deburr and grind metal to achieve the proper surface texture
- Perform inspections to ensure welds and finished parts meet quality standards
- Conduct daily safety checks and maintenance on equipment in line with safety standards
- Identify machine or material issues that may affect integrity
- Read work orders, tag product as required, and keep your area clean and organized
- Work in compliance with ISO, OHSA, and company safety standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a commercial welder
- Certificate or diploma in welding, or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding (laser an asset)
- Ability to read BOM listings and technical drawings
- Solid measurement and math skills with tape measures, angle gauges, and calipers
- Understanding of metals, material properties, and tolerances
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail who can work independently
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
